Case study · E-commerce & wholesale
Wild West Charcoal: growing retail and wholesale at the same time.
Wild West Charcoal sells premium charcoal, pellets, grills and BBQ supplies. We handle their online growth end to end: the website, search, ads, their Amazon store and finding new wholesale customers.
The starting point
Wild West Charcoal had two businesses to grow at once: retail customers buying online, and wholesale customers buying in volume. The online store looked good, but many of its pages were built from embedded code blocks that search engines can't read well, and commercial leads came in unpredictably, which made inventory and team workflow hard to plan.
What we did
1. An online store Google can read
We rebuilt key store pages, starting with BBQs and grills, as real native pages instead of embedded code, with proper headings, text and product information. Search engines can now understand what each page sells, which is the foundation for showing up in search.
2. Google Ads and Meta ads
- Google Ads to catch people already searching for charcoal, pellets and grills.
- Facebook and Instagram ads in the brand's own bold style, pushing hero products like their pellets.
- Separate campaigns for retail shoppers and for business buyers, so each gets the right message.
3. Amazon store
We manage their Amazon store alongside the website, so the brand reaches shoppers who start their search on Amazon, with listings that match the quality of the website.
4. Wholesale customers
Beyond retail, we actively bring in wholesale accounts: targeted campaigns aimed at businesses, and direct outreach to find new stores and resellers across Canada.
What changed
Targeted campaigns replaced unpredictable commercial leads with a steady flow of higher-value business clients, while the backend order flow was streamlined so the team can keep up.
What the client says
Volo delivered the best website and the most successful ad campaigns we have ever seen, not just for retail but for wholesale too. He paired clear communication with consistent, undeniable growth.
The takeaway for other product businesses
- Make every page readable. A store that looks good but is built from embedded blocks can be close to invisible in search.
- Sell where your buyers already are. Your website, Google, Facebook, Instagram and Amazon each reach a different shopper.
- Treat wholesale as its own channel. Business buyers need different messages, offers and follow-up than retail customers.
